Project description

The road has been sealed at different times resulting in a patchwork of different width seals. Older segments on this road have very narrow seals. Some have been widened and these last remaining few narrow segments are 3.2, 3.5, 4.3m and 5.2m wide. These narrow segments are proving to be inadequate with increasing heavy vehicle traffic resulting in severe potholing, edge break and shoulder wear with increased potential risk to road users.

Rip, reconstruct new pavement and seal, including widening to route standard (increased to 8.5m seal on normal 10.0m formation due to increase in truck volume) of the narrow segments, joining up with wider segments of 6.0 to 8.5m wide.
