Project description

The current road which is the only access to a series of shack sites along the northern coastline (from Fitzgerald Bay to Point Douglas) experiences significant clay saturation and is regularly impassable during and after inclement weather

Council is proposing to resheet portions of Gulf View Drive to a width of 10m (incorporating a 7m trafficable pavement with 1.5m shoulders) along two separate stretches of Gulf View Drive approximately 400m and 500m in length respectively. Materials including bitumen fines and profilings will be carted to site to provide a suitable surface with a view to preparing the site of an eventual two coat seal at a later date. This work will be undertaken in two lifts of 175mm each to maintain pavement structure.
