Project description

Subsurface instability and poor quality seal has caused mass pavement failure over a 1.5km section. Such failures include severe surface cracking, potholing, edge cracking and depressions.

The seal for this 1.5km section will be removed in sections where the road has degraded. In these areas, the subsurface will be ripped and blended with high quality road base. The road base will then be sufficiently compacted and allowed to sit for two weeks prior to seal to determine any further subsurface deficiencies in these areas. Upon rectification of any further issues, a two-coat 20/10 seal will be laid to replace that which was removed. Table drains will be reformed and stormwater culverts and pipes will be cleared to rectify drainage issues.
