Project description

The proposed section has the following defects: moderate crocodile craking, heavy patching, ravelling, oxidation and weathering due to the age of the existign surface. The surface of the road has moderate failures (for example, pothoels and patches).

Asphalt Resurfacing: Profile edges to key-in with the concrete kerb and channel; waterproofing and crack alleviation bitumen sprayed seal; and 50mm thick Dense Graded Asphalt Overlay (using 14mm nominal size aggregate).

Sluice Creek Road - 059498-15QLD-RTR

The existing 5.5m wide gravel road is too narrow for the number of vehicles now using the section of Sluice Creek Road. The existing road pavement is also substandard and is showing signs of deterioration from heavy use by commercial vehicles.The proposed works include the widening of the existing 5.5m wide gravel road to 8m wide bitumen seal road, to allow the safe passing of commercial vehicles and the reconstruction of the road pavement to improve it's load bearing capacity.
