Project description

The existing overall condition of the road has been rated as very poor. Based on the road condition and the existing width of the seal being inadequate for the traffic volume the above section of Kents Road has been scheduled for reconstruction.

The work entails reconstructing a rural feeder road to Councils current standards upgrading the road from a substandard 6.0m bitumen seal road with a condition rating of 7 out of 10 to a 7m wide bitumen seal with a 8m formation

Total cost of proposed project is $675,000

The timber girders which support the 15m long timber running surface are in poor condition due to their age, water damage and some infestation from white ants.Proposed works include the removal of the existing timber girders and timber deck and replace with reinforced box culverts and undertake some minor roadway approach works.Total cost of proposed project is $304,884

Existing pavement is severly depleted of pavement material.Nominal pavement width to be increased to 4m. Renewal of low standard pavement with minimum 80mm fine crushed rock.Total cost of proposed project is $34,622
