Project description

The road is a school bus route and a heavy vehicle route. The road is very narrow and the existing seal is failing and requires a reseal to maintain integrity. On the approaches to the bridge at straight line kilometre 4.40 There is insufficient road width for vehicles to safely pull over to allow oncoming traffic to pass.

Widen the existing seal by 600 milimetres. Place a reseal on the widened section of road and the existing seal. Construct safe passing areas to the bridge.

Total cost of proposed project is $58,399

The timber girders which support the 15m long timber running surface are in poor condition due to their age, water damage and some infestation from white ants.Proposed works include the removal of the existing timber girders and timber deck and replace with reinforced box culverts and undertake some minor roadway approach works.Total cost of proposed project is $304,884

Existing pavement is severly depleted of pavement material.Nominal pavement width to be increased to 4m. Renewal of low standard pavement with minimum 80mm fine crushed rock.Total cost of proposed project is $34,622
