Project description

The existing bitumen seal is approximately 25 to 30 years old and is starting to break up; causing pavement potholes, shoving of the outer wheel paths and edge break it has had several areas of heavy patching done in recent years. In several locations the stone has stripped off indicating that the binder (bitumen) is losing its adhesiveness

Correct any surface defects, potholes/shoves, maintenance grade the shoulders, import gravel to reshape & widen shoulders where necessary, and then bitumen seal to a width of 6m using 14mm aggregate.
