Project description

The project has upgraded approximately 40km of Forrest Apollo Bay Road, Skenes Creek Road and Birregurra-Forrest Road in south west Melbourne. The project also included a range of improvement works including slow vehicle turnouts, shoulder sealing and barrier installation.

The project has improved driver safety and travel times.

Funding

The total cost of the project was $10 million. The Australian and Victorian governments have each contributed $5 million.

Timetable

Construction works commenced on 22 November 2017 and was completed in March 2022.
