Project description

The project upgraded approximately 140km of pavement along three key freight routes within the Green Triangle Region: Henty Highway from Hamilton to Portland, Portland-Nelson Road from Henty Highway to the South Australian border, and Portland-Casterton Road from Drumborg to Casterton.

Benefits

The project is expected to improve safety and efficiency for all road users of these transport corridors which connect to the Port of Portland in south west Victoria.

Funding

The estimated cost of the project is $40 million. The Australian and Victorian governments are each contributing $20 million.

Timetable

Construction commenced on 1 March 2017 and was completed in June 2020.
