The project constructed a dual lane roundabout to replace the existing T intersection at Phillip Island Road and Woolamai Beach Road on Phillip Island in Victoria. The project is part of an inital stage to improve the road safety and operational performance of Phillip Island Road into the future.
The project has provided benefits across multiple road user groups including freight, pedestrians, cyclists, public transport and general traffic use, and supported economic growth in the region.
The total cost of the project was $10.5 million. The Australian and Victorian governments each contributed $5.25 million.
The project commenced construction in March 2020 and was completed in October 2020.
