Project description

the existing carriageway width and railway crossing width is deficient (7.8 meters only) for the large configuration of vehicles using this road, particularly during the harvest period.

Reconstruct and widen the pavement on both approaches to the railway crossing to achieve a new carriageway width of 10 meters. Upgrade and widen the railway crossing asphalt surface standard to achieve a new carriageway width of 10 meters. Relocate the railway crossing lights away from the road carriageway to achieve a required 12.4 meter wide clearance zone. The reconstructed pavement on the approaches to the railway crossing is to be primer sealed with 2 coat chip seal and adjoining each side of the asphalt railway crossing. Part of the work will include extending the existing reinforced concrete pipe culverts.

Total cost of proposed project is $281,835
