Project description

Ernst Wanke Road was originally envisaged as a 2 lane dual carriageway (total 4 lanes) however subsequently downgraded to 2 lane road for the most of its length. There were no turning lanes provided along the side streets however as the traffic volumes on Ernst Wanke Road grew, there were some requirement at the time to provide turning lane treatments on some of the busier side streets. Overtime, more and more turning lane treatment were constructed. This particular project is required based on the traffic volumes, turning demand as well as to provide of a consistent experience to motorists.

Construct exclusive right turn lanes on Ernst Wanke Road at the intersections of Hessell Road, Hagen Drive and Avebury Drive, as well as an exclusive declaration and left turn lane at Whistler Drive.
