Project description

The project will address congestion caused by traffic joining the Bruce Highway from the Wide Bay Highway heading south. The works will involve capacity and safety upgrades to the Wide Bay Highway intersection, including lane separation works.

Benefits

The project will achieve the following benefits: improved safety for all road users by separating traffic movements and removing conflict points continuity of flow for southbound Bruce Highway traffic by separating vehicles turning right from the Wide Bay Highway improved travel time and reliability for freight and passanger traffic

Funding

The Australian Government has committed up to $11.2 million towards the project in partnership with the Queensland Government.

Timetable

Construction commenced in November 2020 and was completed in December 2021.
