Project description

Existing timber bridge is in the last stages of its useful life and unsuitable for rehabilitation. The bridge is showing signs of wear and the structural integrity of the bridge elements has decrease to a point where it is currently load limited at 8T. The bridge provides for local, recreational and forestry access.

To bring the bridge up to date with current standards, it is proposed to replace the existing bridge with concrete/steel structure, capable of supporting a minimum 44T.

Tasmanian Freight Rail Revitalisation - Tranche 1 and 2

The Freight Rail Revitalisation program helped to raise the quality of the major lines on the Tasmanian rail network through selective sleepering and track replacement. Culverts were strengthened, drainage and formation works undertaken and level crossings upgraded. These works built on upgrades under the previous Australian Government funded program that were designed to keep the lines at an operational standard, with the objective of improving overall safety, reliability and thereby competitiveness of the rail network. The Freight Rail Revitalisation program consists of two projects - one for Tasmanian rail lines on the National Land Transport Network (the Network), and one for those off the Network (Off-Network).
