Project description

This section of the road consists of only a 5.5m wide bituminous surface. Currently vehicles have to drop at least one wheel off the sealed pavement onto shoulders to pass. These put strains on the edge of the pavement which requires constant repairs and reduces safety to traffic especially to the heavy vehicles including school buses and grain trucks.

It is intended to widen the road formation to 8m with 7 m wide bitumen surface. This project will include erecting & removing traffic control at the site, vegetation removal, removing & reinstating signs, installing guideposts, clearing, excavation, adding gravel, widening the pavement, reconstructing the tabledrains, shaping, compacting, trimming, primersealing incorporating 10mm aggregates with a 5mm scatter coat.
