Project description

This section of the road consists of a 7m wide bituminous surface. The pavement has deteriorated badly. It requires constant repairs and reduces safety to traffic especially to the heavy vehicles including grain trucks. Bewleys Road will ultimately become a B-double route, after this project.

It is intended to strenghten the pavement. This project will include erecting & removing traffic control at the site, vegetation removal, removing & reinstating signs, guardrailing & guideposts, clearing, widening and strengthening the culverts, excavation, adding gravel, widening the pavement, reconstructing the table drains, shaping, compacting, trimming and primersealing incorporating 10mm aggregates with a 5mm scatter coat.

Total cost of proposed project is $2,000,000
