Project description

The left hand side road shoulder (heading south towards the cul-de-sac head) has deteriorated due to subsidence of the lower embankment. This has adversely affected the drainage capabilities of the kerb and channel resulting in ponding issues, which in turn has degraded the road surface. In addition, the concrete footpath panels have shifted causing an unsafe footpath with numerous tripping hazards. Due to the close proximity to Mount Stuart Primary School improved safety works are also required to provide safe road crossing points.

The proposed work consists of stabilizing the embankment to mitigate future subsidence issues, reconstruction of the road shoulder including resurfacing, new kerb and channel, and concrete footpath works. In addition, ancillary works will be completed to improve the pedestrian safety with designated pedestrian crossing points.
