The Bendigo/Echuca Rail Line Upgrade will deliver signalling upgrades between Bendigo and Epsom/Eaglehawk and track works between Epsom and Echuca. Signalling upgrade works include 3-aspect rail signalling, interlocking changes, train control system changes, train protection warning system enforcement, level pedestrian crossing upgrades and additional trackside cabling. Track works include upgrading sleepers and rail track, drainage improvements, track formation remediation and improved ballast profile.
The project aims to improve efficiency and safety for passengers between Bendigo and Echuca.
The Australian Government committed $145.4 million towards the $160.5 million project.
Delivery works commenced in late 2020 and was completed in late 2023.
