Project description

This project is being delivered in four stages. The four-stage delivery includes:
-    New overtaking lane between Williamsdale Road and Royalla Drive and left-hand turn lane into Old Cooma Road
-    Lanyon Drive Intersection upgrade
-    Hume intersections upgrades (Sheppard Street, Mugga Lane and Tralee Street)
-    Isabella Drive intersection upgrade
 

Benefits

The project will reduce congestion and travel times and improve the reliability of the Monaro Highway corridor. The project will also increase the productivity of freight movements, particularly interstate freight moving between NSW and the ACT.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $145.3 million to deliver this $290.5 million project.

Timetable

Construction commenced in late 2019 and is expected to be completed by late 2027.
