Project description

Bitumen and seal failures due to age of pavement surface, potholes and deterioration of the edges is substantial creating a hazard for traffic, especially in wet conditions. The vegetation will also need to be cleared on either side of the road .

Box out failing areas on the proposed locations, compact subgrade and import new gravel base. Install new gravel on a thickness of minimum 150mm, level and compact. Rebuild shoulders where the edges are failing by importing gravel to create a uniform 10m width formation Install a primerseal with 5mm stones on all reworked areas within the sealed width of pavement, followed by an application of C170 bitumen and a 14/7mm aggregate All guide posts and signage will be reinstated when the work is finished.
