Project description

This project is expected to upgrade the Maroondah Highway in Coldstream in Melbourne's east, including additional lanes and other capacity improvements.

Benefits

The Maroondah Highway is an important road corridor linking Healesville, Coldstream, Lilydale and the inner suburbs of Melbourne. Traffic modelling indicates that the stretch of the Maroondah Highway between Lilydale and Coldstream will be heavily congested in coming years.
This upgrade is expected to reduce congestion and improve road safety for all road users.

Funding

The Australian Government is contributing $20 million to the project.

Timetable

Construction is expected to commence in late 2024 and be completed in early 2026.
