Project description

Upgraded Lyell Highway from Queenstown to Strahan including stopping bays, passing lanes, alignment improvements including curve widening and improvements to delineation.

Benefits

Improved freight productivity as the Lyell Highway is part of the freight road corridor connecting the Zeehan and Murchison Highways including Strahan and Queenstown and offering distribution networks for major mines.

Funding

The Australian Government contributed up to 80 per cent, capped at $15 million.

Timetable

Construction commenced in December 2022 and completed in May 2024.
