Project description

The project will deliver new and upgraded commuter car parking facilities at Craigieburn, Hurstbridge, Epping, Merlynston, Sunbury, Watergardens and Greensborough railway stations.

Benefits

This project will support public transport usage and efficiency by improving park and ride facilities at these locations.

Funding

The Australian and Victorian Governments are each contributing $89.13 million to the project.

Timetable

Construction commenced in early 2020 and all seven sites were completed by mid 2025.

As White Road runs parallel to the South Eastern Freeway (within 30m at is shortest point) there is often dust issues on the freeway. In addition due the freight volume maintenance of White Road is a high cost item for Rural City of Murray BridgeRehabilitate and improve the unsealed granular pavement by installing additional material and applying 14/7mm spray seal. Pavement works will be undertaken by Council works staff with sealing works contracted to Council sealing contractor.

The road surface has become porous and allows water to penetrate into the sealed surface.40mm AC10 asphalt overlay, 290 metres at a width of 8.5 metres as part of Councils Reseal program to rehabilitate the surface and extend seal life.
