Project description

The project will upgrade and progressively seal sections of the Dawson Developmental Road between Springsure and Tambo, including construction of a new bridge over the Barcoo River.

Benefits

Increased connectivity between communities, flood immunity, reliable and safe road network (especially during the wet season), access improvements for higher capacity vehicles, and the facilitation of economic opportunities.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed up to $45.58 million, and the Queensland Government committed up to $11.36 million to the project.

Timetable

The project commenced construction March 2021 and is expected to be completed in late 2027.
