Project description

Road has severe cracking issues and rutting in localised areas. Kerbing is cracked and pushing out into the road. Isolated pavement failures need correcting and importing new road base needs to happen to correct surface levels and consolidate drainage improvements.

Remove kerbing/footpath ramps and inspect/clean and/or replace drainage pits as required. Remove bituminous surface and cart away. Reconstruct pavement and import road base as required to correct levels. Apply a 10mm 90/10 primer seal followed by 40mm of dense course asphalt. Install new semi mountable kerbing as prior. Connect footpath ramps as prior.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
