Project description

This project will upgrade and seal roads across the Dandenong Ranges and surrounds in Cardinia Shire Council area.

Benefits

The Dandenong Ranges region (the Dandenongs) is a major tourist destination that welcomes visitors from around the world to this unique part of Australia each year, but is also one of the most bushfire-prone areas in Victoria.
There are a range of roads that require upgrading and sealing across the Dandenongs to support economic development and tourism, as well as changes associated with population growth.
Better local roads in the Dandenongs will not only support the local tourism industry but will also provide improved access and safety for the local community, including through peak bushfire season.

Funding

The Australian Government contribution is capped at $41 million.

Timetable

This project commenced construction in October 2021 and is expected to be complete in late 2025.
