Project description

Previously, the intersection of West Swan Road and Millhouse Road has been a 3-way T-Junction and has exhibited a high number of vehicle crashes, particularly rear end and right angle crashes. This is due to a combination of high traffic volumes, insufficient sight lines and inadequate seal widths to provide right turning vehicles with the ability to safely execute turning movements.

Under the City of Swan's road improvement program, this intersection is currently in the process of being converted from a 3-way T-Junction intersection to a roundabout, with construction works commencing in December 2019 and due for completion prior to June 2020. The added pre-deflection and seal area will provide a much safer intersection for road users.

Total cost of proposed project is $4,406,330
