Project description

This project will include the expansion of existing rest stop areas and the construction of new rest stop areas, including the upgrade of the existing weighbridge site on the Bass Highway near Howth and a new rest area on the East Tamar Highway/Bridport Main Road.

The project will improve road safety for all road users.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $4 million towards the project.

Timetable

Construction commenced February 2022 and is expected to be complete by mid-2026.
