Project description

Lane and shoulder widening and sealing and related upgrade works on Litchfield Park Road to improve road safety.

Funding

The Australian Government committed $480,000 towards this $600,000 project, in partnership with the Northern Territory Government.

Timetable

Construction works commenced in April 2021 and were completed in late 2023.

Cashmere-Kirrama Road, Kirrama - 055853-15QLD-RTR

The timber girders which support the 15m long timber running surface are in poor condition due to their age, water damage and some infestation from white ants.Proposed works include the removal of the existing timber girders and timber deck and replace with reinforced box culverts and undertake some minor roadway approach works.Total cost of proposed project is $304,884

Johnsons Creek Road, Maintongoon - 057176-15VIC-RTR

Existing pavement is severly depleted of pavement material.Nominal pavement width to be increased to 4m. Renewal of low standard pavement with minimum 80mm fine crushed rock.Total cost of proposed project is $34,622
