Project description

The current condition and environment of the road has been identified as a safety hazard to all user groups. The current road environment consists of a single seal road typically varying between 3 to 4m in width with unsealed shoulders. This in turn requires motorist to exit the sealed pavement when oncoming traffic is approaching further exposing motorists to roadside hazards. This is compounded by the horizontal and vertical geometry of the road which is not line with current road design guidelines further posing risks to not only motorists but recreational cyclists and other vulnerable road users. In addition, the road pavement is showing signs of failure and maintenance of unsealed shoulders is inefficient.

Rehabilitation of the existing road pavement, widening of sealed pavement and associated works.
