Project description

This investment will design and construct high quality active transport infrastructure that will provide safe and convenient access for cyclists and pedestrians in and around the Perth CBD.

A key component of the investment is the Swan River Bridge project, that will deliver a new bridge across the Swan River for pedestrians and cyclists, located to the south-west of the existing Causeway Bridge. The new 6 metre wide pedestrian and cyclist bridge will provide safe, high-quality infrastructure that encourages more people to ride and walk to and from the city.

The investment will also fund a series of active transport projects across the Perth CBD:

Bennett Street Bike Lanes
Spring Street /Mounts Bay Road Bike Connection
Aberdeen Street Bike Lanes
Kings Park Road Shared Path
Wellington Street Bike Lane Upgrade

Benefits

The benefits of this program include improved road safety for road users, and reduced congestion and improved travel times.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $57.25 million towards the Perth CBD Transport Plan under the Infrastructure Investment Program.

The projects are currently in the planning phase.

Willydah Road (Rural Road) - 058167-15NSW-RTR

Narrow formation width of 6m. Narrow bitumen seal of 3.5 m, Significant pavement failure, edge drop off. School Bus Route and Heavy vehicle route between production areas into Trangie.Widen formation to 8m, Rip, reshape existing road and overlay with gravel pavement 0.15 m thick. Provide bitumen seal 6.5m wide. We only propose to do a single coat (primer) seal in this instance and to do the second seal coat approx 12 months later as a separate project

Bundella Road (Rural Road) - 058169-15NSW-RTR

The existing thin gravel pavement becomes rough quickly under traffic after maintenance grading.Apply a 100 mm compacted thickness gravel re-sheet on the existing road formation

Pinedene Road (Rural Road), - 058170-15NSW-RTR

Narrow formation width of 6m, virtually no gravel remaining in section, no longer a functioning all weather road, but is required to be. Route used by Harvest traffic, which includes heavy vehicles.Widen formation to 8m, Rip, reshape existing road and overlay with gravel pavement 0.1 m thick.
