Project description

This project upgraded South Road in Moorabbin, between the Nepean Highway and Warrigal Road, including:

construction of a new city bound right turn lane to improve access to Nepean Highway
new turning lanes for the East Boundary Road intersection
adding new traffic lights at the Bignell Road intersection
modifying the South Road, Jasper Road and Taylor Street intersection to improve traffic flow and safety
upgrading bike lanes and footpaths along the Nepean Highway between Patterson Road and Katoomba Street

Funding

The Australian Government committed $22.5 million towards the project.

Construction commenced in November 2021 and was completed in November 2022.

The road has a damaged existing gravel driving surface with road base and sub-base deterioration facilitating minor drainage repairs.Initially accomplish minor drainage repairs as needed followed by required base and sub-base layer stabilisation where required. Gravel re-sheeting is completed to improve the road surface.

The road has a damaged existing seal with road base and sub-base deterioration facilitating minor drainage repairs.Initially accomplish minor drainage repairs as needed followed by required base and sub-base layer stabilisation where required. Bitumen re-sealing is completed to protect the road base and improve road surface.

Millie Road (Rural Road) - 059876-15NSW-RTR

The road has a damaged existing gravel driving surface with road base and sub-base deterioration facilitating minor drainage repairs.Initially accomplish minor drainage repairs as needed followed by required base and sub-base layer stabilisation where required. Gravel surfacing actions including stabilisation as needed to improve the road surface.

Culloden Road pavement has extensinve failure to approximately 60% of the area. Pavement length 740m and average width 9.20Rehabilitation of the road pavement by heavy patching, profiling and resurfacing the wearing surfacing.
