Project description
Narrabri to Turrawan Line Upgrade to enhance the quality and capability of the line to deliver a rail corridor capable of 25 Tonne Axle Load trains at 80 km/h.
Benefits
The Narrabri to Turrawan Line Upgrade project aims to increase productivity of existing infrastructure and provide an improved freight rail connection for North Western NSW to the Port of Newcastle, bringing operational productivity and flexibility benefits.
Funding
Australian Government is fully funding the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) to deliver this $44.650 million project.
Timetable
Construction commenced in mid 2022 with the project scheduled for completion in late 2024.
