The project will undertake realignments of sub-standard curves, intersection improvements, provision of passing lanes and seal widening on Toodyay Road from Dryandra to Toodyay.
Toodyay Road forms part of the Roe Highway to Toodyay Route that links the north-eastern Wheatbelt to the Perth metropolitan area. This project aims to improve road safety for all road users and improve travel times and freight performance. The route currently services over 2,800 vehicles per day and carries an increasing volume of commuter and tourist traffic and heavy vehicles, with heavy vehicles comprising 11.6 per cent of the daily traffic.
The Australian Government has committed $112.8 million towards the $141.0 million project.
