Project description

This project will deliver upgrades on South Arm Road including intersection upgrades, duplication works and safety improvements along the Rokeby - South Arm Road corridor, between Pass Road and Acton Road in Rokeby, east of Hobart.

Kitchener Road, Melville, WA - 057621-15WA-RTR

Road beginning to fail in various sections. Road surface is old and rough and needs resurfacing.Rehabilitation of select number of sites along the road that are currently failing. The works is to be undertaken as part of a more general upgrade that will include a complete resurfacing of the road, verge kerb replacement were required and pram ramp upgrade.

Eric Hamilton Road, Baralaba - 057622-15QLD-RTR

Road surface is extremely corrugated and dusty from frequent traffic.460m x 5m wide, Gravel overlay and bitumen seal

Gibihi Road, (Rural Road) - 057623-15QLD-RTR

Identified the roundabout is too small to cater for turning of heavy vehicles, motorists have been turning off the road and crossing unconstructed land to make southern turns. The traffic island is breaking up leaving loose concrete on pavement.Upgrade existing roundabout, which will include widening to 8m, kerbing, lighting and drainageTotal cost of proposed project is $500,000

Theodore Moura Road (Rural Road) - 057624-15QLD-RTR

The current road alignment and curves are too sharp with the crossing of railway lines in the area are proving to be unsafe. The traffic volume of this road network has increased since the opening of the mine operations in the area, therefore it was deemed to need realigning to reduce risk to motorists.A complete realignment of the road which includes drainage, pavement and bitumen seal

York Williams Road (Rural Road) - 057625-15WA-RTR

This section of road was upgraded from gravel to bitumen in 2014/2015. This year will see the primer seal receive its Final Seal with 14mm stone.The Final Seal is from Straight Line Kilometre 12.10 to 15.50. This section will be sealed to a width of 7 metres with 14mm stone.

York Williams Road (Rural Road) - 057626-15WA-RTR

This section of road is currently gravel and is being upgraded to bitumen which will reduce maintenance costs and dust problems.Waterbine and seal to width of 7 metres with a primer seal of 10mm stone from Straight Line Kilometre 15.50 to 23.05.

Edison Mill Road (Rural Road) - 057627-15WA-RTR

This section of road was upgraded from gravel to bitumen in 2014/2015. This year will see the primer seal receive its Final Seal with 14mm stone.The Final Seal is from Straight Line Kilometre 0.00 to 2.00. This section will be sealed to a width of 6.4 metres with 14mm stone.

Dale Kokeby Road (Rural Road) - 057628-15WA-RTR

This section of road was upgraded from gravel to bitumen in 2014/2015. This year will see the primer seal receive its Final Seal with 14mm stone.The Final Seal is from Straight Line Kilometre 0.20 to 2.20. This section will be sealed to a width of 6.4 metres with 14mm stone.

Boystown Lane, Charters Towers - 057629-15QLD-RTR

A natural water course running into Saint George Creek crosses Boystown Lane and scours the road. There is also a dust hazard with the existing gravel surface.It is proposed to put in a floodway for the watercourse and seal the entire section to subdue the dust and prevent further scouring.

Bolgart East Road (Rural Road) - 057632-15WA-RTR

The existing road standard is insufficient to cater for the mix of heavy haulage, farm machinery and commuter traffic that is currently using it. This project will widen narrow sections of the Bolgart East Road to provide a uniform Type 5 standard local distributor road.The scope of work for this project will include the following. 1. Clear vegetation within clear zone on either side of the existing road. 2. Extend storm water culvert pipes and install headwalls & stabilise upstream & downstream culvert areas. 3. Import new sub base and base gravel either side of existing bitumen and compact. 4. Pulverise existing base layer and bitumen (existing road) and new base shoulder works. 5. Shape and Compact to 102% maximum dry density to line and level. 6. Widen the primer seal to 7.6 metres on the straights and 8 metres on the curves. 7. Seal with 14/7mm over the complete width and length. 8. Install guide posts and new signage.
