Project description

This section of road (5.6km in length) is last unsealed gravel section in the important road between Crows Nest and Blackbutt. Toowoomba Regional Council has been upgrading this link over the last 5 years to bring the road to sealed standard for the entire length. This link is important link for connectivity for local heavy vehicles

Construct two lanes bitumen seal standard with 8m seal on 8m formation over gravel section.

Total cost of proposed project is $5,293,473

The timber girders which support the 15m long timber running surface are in poor condition due to their age, water damage and some infestation from white ants.Proposed works include the removal of the existing timber girders and timber deck and replace with reinforced box culverts and undertake some minor roadway approach works.Total cost of proposed project is $304,884

Existing pavement is severly depleted of pavement material.Nominal pavement width to be increased to 4m. Renewal of low standard pavement with minimum 80mm fine crushed rock.Total cost of proposed project is $34,622
