Project description

Works will include the construction of an overtaking lane near Delamere (between Yankalilla and the Kangaroo Island Ferry) and the easing of curves between Myponga and Yankalilla.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $16 million towards the total project costs of the $20 million. This is under an 80:20 arrangement with the South Australian Government.

Timetable

Construction is expected to start late 2023 and be completed early 2025.

The existing wooden structured bridge will be demolished and a temporary bypass will be put in place while the new bridge is being constructed.

Lindsay Point Road has been rated against Councils Road Asset Management plan and it has reached its design life. Resealing this road now will extend the life of the asset as well as providing a safe smooth road surface, free of defects.The proposed work will include road shoulder alignment and re-sealing.
