Project description

Stage 1 aims to deliver 19 kilometres of dual track between Beerwah and Caloundra and associated stations, and protection of the updated rail alignment through to Maroochydore

Improve travel times and travel time reliability
Reduce congestion
Improve connectivity
 

Funding

The Australian and Queensland governments have each committed $2.75 billion to Stage 1 of this project for a total commitment of $5.5 billion.

Timetable

Delivery of Stage 1 is expected to commence in 2026 and complete by 2032.
