Project description

Due to urban growth in Aveley, traffic volumes have increased significantly along Egerton Drive over the last 10 years. The current traffic volume exceeds 10,000vpd, which is far beyond what Egerton Drive was ever designed for. As a result, the City is experiencing ongoing maintenance issues on Egerton Drive, with brick pavers displacing and pavement deflections forming. The City is currently spending a significant amount of money on maintaining Egerton Drive each year. A rehabilitation treatment is required as a more permanent fix.

Remove brick pavers, sand and existing kerbing, import new gravel basecourse for pavement, Foamed Bitumen Stabilisation (FBS) of the pavement to achieve required strength, lay bitumen emulsion primerseal, lay fresh kerbing and asphalt wearing course.

Total cost of proposed project is $850,000
