Project description

The road is currently natural surface and does not provide adequate all weather access. It is also quite narrow which hinders on the safety of road users, often causing conflict between tourist vehicles and large farm machinery. The surface does not allow water to adequately drain.

Increase road surface width by removing drift sand. Create drains. Sheet with introduced crushed rubble and compact, forming surface during construction.

Unsealed road creating dust issues and unable to withstand current traffic volumes.Import 150mm of gravel to a width of 7m wide with a two coat seal to a width of 6.2m.

Benham Road, Minto - 057539-15NSW-RTR

The road is severly affected by crocodile cracking & significant levels of rutting.The proposed treatment includes rectification of the pavement deformation area with cementitious stabilisation treatment first. Then the whole section will be treated by hot mix asphalt with interlayer seal. Length is 564m and average width is 11.8m.

Parliament Road, Macquarie Fields - 057540-15NSW-RTR

The road surface is affected with moderate levels of stripping & crocodile crackingThe proposed treatment includes rectification of the asphalt fatigue area with heavy patching treatment first. Then the whole section will be treated by hot mix asphalt with interlayer seal. Length is 644m and average width is 10.5m.

Banana Baralaba Road (Rural Road) - 057541-15QLD-RTR

Road is to narrow to allow vehicles to safely pass, including the pavement deteriorating and failing due to large/heavy vehicles constantly using this section of the roadShoulder widening and rehabilitation including a full width sealTotal cost of proposed project is $828,850

Williams Lane, Buxton - 057544-15VIC-RTR

Existing seal and pavement has badly deteriorated and is unsafe for vehicles due to the many pothole patches and irregularities on the road surfaces.Road to be resealed.

Sturt Valley Road (Upper Sturt) - 057546-15SA-RTR

The current road's pavement is highly deteriorated and the seal is failing. The road suffers from rutting and pavement edge breaks due to the lack of road drainage and heavy use. The current tree lined road which consists of many curves, hairpin bends and steep drop offs is too narrow making it unsafe for the increasing traffic volumes particularly when the road is a critical freight route vital to the area.Upgrade of the 640 metre section of Sturt Valley Road consists of a full depth pavement reconstruction and asphalting the surface with a 40mm asphalt seal, installation of kerbs, gutters, and guardrails to protect steep drop offs. The lane widths will also be increased with edge lining, and improved drainage.Total cost of proposed project is $457,000

Granites Road (Rural Road) - 057547-15SA-RTR

The current pavement on Granites Road is failing. The current road has minor dimension and geometry issues and major strength and durability issues. This section of Granites Road is gazetted as a 26m B Double route and is a regionally significant freight route.The section of Granites Road will include minor realignment and profiling, laying of a deep lift asphalt to improve strength and durability for heavy vehicles to access.Total cost of proposed project is $250,000

Saltwell Road (Rural Road) - 057548-15SA-RTR

Saltwell Road has pavement failures and is worn with flushed pavement. There is edge failure, potholes and loose pavement material making the road unsafe. Saltwell road is a freight road servicing logging trucks and also services potato harvesting and is a local road of regional importance.The existing road will be resealed to a width of 6.0 metres bringing the road to a safe standard. The current reseal program maintains an ongoing investment in Saltwell Road as part of a locally important freight link between Cape Jaffa and the Princess Highway.Total cost of proposed project is $120,000
