Project description

The road requires pavement strength improvement due to its failing pavement and poor drainage. This road is in a 100km/h zone and has a large amount of interaction between heavy vehicles and commuter vehicles. It requires an improvement of the road and shoulder strength and drainage to improve safety and to accommodate the increasing number ofheavy vehicles on this route.

The work proposed includes pavement reconstruction and surface sealing of the 2 sections - Section 1 commences 521 m east of Victor Harbor Road through to Enterprise Rd (3.8 Km). Section 2 commences at Willowburn Dve through to Stone Ford Rd (1.6 Km). The new pavement and surface will be designed to be suitable for a long-term (future projections with growth) heavy vehicle loading of adequate pavement strength. The pavement strength will be improved by the proposed pavement strength methods (Constructing new pavement /Full Depth Asphalt and Foam Bitumen Stabilisation (FBS) with Granular Overlay plus 0.5m/1m sealed shoulders)

Total cost of proposed project is $900,000
