Project description

The project will invest in the delivery of a new electric bus network for Perth through upgrades to bus depots and the installation of solar panels, batteries and bus charging infrastructure.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $125 million toward electric bus charging infrastructure in Perth, which will be matched by the WA Government for the acquisition 130 locally manufactured electric buses.

Timetable

The project is in planning and is expected to commence construction in mid 2024 and complete construction by mid 2027.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
