Project description

The Landor-Meekatharra Rd is a main route for mining, pastoral and tourist use. The road is mostly sealed, with approx 137km sealed and 32km unsealed. There has been a recent increase in heavy mining activity on the road. The variability between sealed and unsealed sections causes safety problems and visibility issues through the unsealed sections due to raised dust. Corrugations and wash outs on the unsealed sections are safety hazards that will be fixed through sealing the road.

Reconstruct road to 10 metres wide. Improve drainage and floodways. Apply a 7.2 metre wide bitumen seal over a length of 6 kilometres.

Total cost of proposed project is $1,200,000
