Project description

replacing gravel and 2 coat seal bitumen road with concrete as the roads wash away during weather events and Council is continually repairing pot holes. Concrete has a far superior lifespan and will not succumb to weather events the same way bitumen and gravel do.

Replacing Gravel and 2 Coat Seal bitumen Road with Concrete road - approximately 1300m2 of roadway. Council is looking to replace as many 2 coat seal roads and bitumen roads with concrete to ensure longevity and reduce costs to repair after weather events.

Total cost of proposed project is $470,000

Road safety is a major concern. This is a heavily trafficed rural road. As a result of seasonal harvest traffic, this road has suffered from major deterioration.Works will include full road rehabilitation approximately 6m wide, 150mm gravel overlay over the entire length and a two coat seal from chainage 1.36km to 2.61km.
