Project description

The pavement is 33 years old and contains significant fatigue cracking and ravelling in most of the section. The pavement contains cracking in most of the section. The predominant type of cracking observed was fatigue cracking, mainly occurring from South Perth Esplanade and Mill Point Close. Furthermore, pumping of fines was also observed throughout the section. Ravelling was primarily identified in the section from Mill Point Close. Additionally, isolated instances of delamination were identified in the pavement, specifically at South Perth Esplanade SLK 0.17 to 0.13 and Mill Point Close SLK 0.05 to 0.02.

It is proposed to mill out 50mm of existing road surface and lay 20mm of low void SMA7 and overlay 30mm thick 10/75 SMA
