Project description

This project will realign and widen the Great Western Highway for approximately 2.4 kilometres and include a grade-separated interchange at Coxs River Road.

Benefits

This project will provide:- safer travel for private and freight vehicles between Lithgow and Mount Victoria; - a safer intersection between the Coxs River Road and the Great Western Highway; - greater freight productivity; and - reduced traffic congestion.

Funding

The Australian and NSW Governments have each committed $116 million to this project, bringing the total project funding to $232 million.

Timetable

Construction commenced in early 2023 and was completed in late 2025.
