Project description

This project will realign and widen the Great Western Highway for approximately 2.4 kilometres and include a grade-separated interchange at Coxs River Road.

Benefits

This project will provide:- safer travel for private and freight vehicles between Lithgow and Mount Victoria; - a safer intersection between the Coxs River Road and the Great Western Highway; - greater freight productivity; and - reduced traffic congestion.

Funding

The Australian and NSW Governments have each committed $116 million to this project, bringing the total project funding to $232 million.

Timetable

Construction commenced in early 2023 and was completed in late 2025.

Millie Road (Rural Road) - 059876-15NSW-RTR

The road has a damaged existing gravel driving surface with road base and sub-base deterioration facilitating minor drainage repairs.Initially accomplish minor drainage repairs as needed followed by required base and sub-base layer stabilisation where required. Gravel surfacing actions including stabilisation as needed to improve the road surface.

Culloden Road pavement has extensinve failure to approximately 60% of the area. Pavement length 740m and average width 9.20Rehabilitation of the road pavement by heavy patching, profiling and resurfacing the wearing surfacing. Replacement of the failed kerb and gutterTotal cost of proposed project is $367,000
