Project description

The project will upgrade Mulgoa Road to six lanes between Glenmore Parkway to Jeanette Street, Glenmore Park, including upgrades to active and public transport infrastructure. This builds on the upgrade of Mulgoa Road Stage 1 from Jeanette Street to Blaikie Road.

Benefits

Continue on from Mulgoa Road Stage 1 which is a key corridor within Western Sydney. Reduce travel time and congestions. Provide walking and cycling pathways.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $115 million towards the Mulgoa Road Stage 2 Upgrade Project

Timetable

The project is expected to commence early 2026 and will be completed by late 2029.

Crocodile cracking and potholes due to asphalt pavement failure. Damaged kerb and gutter.Kerb and gutter maintenance repairs and full reseal of asphalt pavement.

Lindley Road, Greenacres - 060261-15SA-RTR

Asphalt pavement failure and kerb and gutter damage. Crocodile and longitudinal cracking due to age and environmental factors.Kerb and gutter replacement and full reseal of road.

Strathallan Road (Rural Road) - 060262-15VIC-RTR

Strathallan Road has been sealed over a number of years to provide an east west connection across the Campaspe River between Echuca and Rochester, this sealed road allows commercial vehicles to gain access to the saleyards and Echuca Industrial Estate. This project enables the intersection upgrade and will enhance road safety of users. There have been numerous traffic accidents at the intersection with calls from Police and Community to upgrade the intersection sight lines to enhance public safety.Realignment and upgrade of the intersection including bitumen sealing, linemarking and signage, rehabilitation of the sight mound adjacent to the northern leg of the intersection.

Chamebrlain Street, Wingfield - 060263-15SA-RTR

Crocodile cracking and pothole due to heavy vehicle traffic. Minor damage to kerb and gutter.Full deep lift of 150mm asphalt and kerb repairs.

Purdey Street, Tongala - 060264-15VIC-RTR

The section of Purdey Street is a narrow sealed urban street of 8.7m with unsealed shoulders. Recent traffic counts have highlighted increased traffic movements, Council has also received complaints from the community about the lack of on street parking in the vicinity of the Tongala Aged Care Facility.Widening west side of street for 100m opposite Tongala Aged Care. Seal to be widened by 6.5m from the existing edge of the sealed pavement.

Briggs Gap Road, (Rural Road) - 060267-15VIC-RTR

Road pavement has deteriorated creating a rough driving experience and the wearing surface is due for renewal as per it cyclic condition assessment.Complete sections of regulation and major patching followed by a reseal to average width of 6.0 m for a distance of 3.245 km.

Upper Murray Road (Rural Road) - 060268-15VIC-RTR

Water penetration, pavement subsidence and wearing surface is due for renewal as per it cyclic asset condition assessment.Major patching and pavement stabilisation followed by resealto an average width of 6.3m over a distance of 4.8km
