Project description

The project will widen both carriageways of Appin Road at the St Johns Road intersection from two to three lanes in each direction, widen St Johns Road into the median to provide a further two right turn lanes into Appin Road northbound, and a separate left turn lane onto Appin Road southbound. The project will also include a dedicated cycle lane leading south through the intersection.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $22.5 million towards the project.

Timetable

Subject to planning approval, construction is expected to start in 2026 and take around 12 months to complete.
