Project description

Bowman Road is a 100 km/h zone with heavy and commuter traffic, currently lacking sealed shoulders and is too narrow. The approach to the Copper Coast Highway roundabout needs a 120 metre granular overlay and a deep lift of asphalt for correction. The road will be widened to 8.6 metres with sealed shoulders and resealed with a 16/7 mm spray seal for better skid resistance and safety.

The proposed work on Bowman Road includes shoulder widening over the 2.3 km length to meet Department of Infrastructure and Transport standards, shape correction with a 50 mm granular overlay, a 185 mm deep lift at the approach to the roundabout, spray sealing with 16/7 mm over the entire 2.3 km length, and installation of line marking, guard posts, and reflectors. The balance of funds for the project will be provided by Copper Coast Council.

Total cost of proposed project is $2,684,853
