Project description

The project will support completion of a final business case and commencement of detailed investigations for the future stages of the Barton Highway Upgrade Program.

Benefits

The project will enhance productivity, resilience and liveability by undertaking planning for upgrades that will improve access to Canberra and services, reduce congestion and provide safer conditions along the corridor to reduce accidents.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $25 million to the Barton Highway Upgrade Program - Future Stages - Planning.

Timetable

Planning is expected to commence in late 2025 with an estimated completion date of mid 2030.
